Brad Pitt thinks Kate Winslet had plenty of room on that plank for both her and Jack and Titanic could’ve ended with DiCaprio alive.

During the 2020 Golden Globe, where Brad racked the award for the best supporting actor, he made a sarcastic remark about costar Leonardo DiCaprio’s debatable death in the classic movie Titanic while showing his gratitude to him.

“I also have to thank my partner in crime, LDC,” Brad said. “Before The Revenant, I used to watch, year after year, his costars accept awards and thank him profusely.

“I know why. He’s an all-star, he’s a gent, and I wouldn’t be here without you man. I thank you.”

“Still — I would have shared the raft,” Brad added, referring to the closing scene of Titanic where Jack, DiCaprio’s character, couldn’t get on the door, or “raft” that Kate’s character Rose was floating on to survive after the ship sank.

The role in Once Upon for which Brad won the Golden Globe could’ve been assigned to someone else.

Director Quentin Tarantino said he went to Tom Cruise for the role of Cliff Booth, shown as the stunt double of a fading actor Rick Dalton played by DiCaprio.

“We talked about it,” Tarantino said, talking about Tom Cruise’s possibility of taking the role. “He’s a great guy, and we really hit it off and it could happen on something else.”

However, as it turned out, the character was played by Brad Pitt who has a history of work with Tarantino, in the movie Inglorious Bastards.
