An angry father from New Hampshire has killed a coyote with his hands unarmed after the animal had dragged his two years old son to the ground.
Ian O’Reilly was out on a hiking trail in Exeter when the incident happened.
His wife and their three kids had accompanied them on the trip and while they were walking, the coyote managed to grab the baby’s coat with his teeth.
The parents of the 2-year-old baby somehow managed to get the baby out but Ian, the father, said that no matter how much they tried to shoo it away, the animal just wouldn’t leave.
Ian kept on struggling with the animal to make it go away.
But in reaction to that, the animal bit Ian in the chest and forearm instead.
Ian then had no choice but to kill the animal and save his and his family’s life from any harm and threat.
The dad, scared that the animal would attack his family, told how he managed to kill the animal by cutting off its supply passage of air.
The father said “when you are in a life-threatening situation like this and such a huge danger is hanging on the head of your family, you are not really able to think much and that is what happened to me too.
I just grabbed it and then it was over in no time.”
The same day, the local police of the region made an announcement with the same concerns, asking people to look for potential danger from coyotes.
After this incident, the police made another announcement and have asked people to directly call for help rather than face the animal alone.
Walking away from the animal is the only smart move.
