Nara Almeida, a Brazilian model with 5 million Instagram followers passed away from Stomach Cancer in May 2018.
She was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2017 and was positive throughout the journey, telling and consoling everyone by saying that “this is only a phase.”
She wanted to spread liveliness and kindness throughout the final year of her life, and that’s what she did.
She captioned one of her pictures on Instagram with “August 8, 2017- the craziest day of my life, it was the day when I was told that I have stomach cancer.
” She said that she cried a lot that day, but not because she was sad but because she was playing a part of a larger and greater plan.According to her, everything that happens with us has a reason.
She shared another post on April 24 in which she shared that doctors have started a new treatment on her and its called immunotherapy. She believed that this new treatment would be able to save her.
She wanted to end the suffering she was going through, and she hoped that this treatment would do just that.
In the battle against cancer, which lasted for about 10 months, she was positive always. She used to say that she always wanted to make her life worthwhile and wanted to convey the message to the world that regardless of the bleak days, life can still be full of love and worthwhile moments.
After a few months, doctors had told her that there is no chance of her survival as cancer had spread to the other parts of her body.
On May 4, Pedro Rocha, Nara’s boyfriend of two years announced on Instagram that she is no more. And in the last months of life, that’s what she wanted.
When the medical aid could not give her the help that she needed, and doctors told her that only death could liberate her from this suffering, then that was what she wanted. To end the suffering no matter how.
