The FBI and the North Port Police Department have reportedly made a breakthrough in the Gabby Petito case after finding personal items belonging to Brian Laundrie.
According to local media reports, the articles were found at a Florida park during the early hours of Wednesday morning. To be exact, the items were located at Florida’s Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park.
Police and FBI have both gone on to confirm how the articles were certainly of wanted fugitive Brian Laundrie who has been the center of attention in the Gabby Petito case and has been treated as the main suspect, ever since then.
After searching for nearly 5 weeks, this is the first time that authorities have actually come forward with substantial evidence which many people claim has been a long time coming.
Reports suggest that the items were located at the same nature reserve that they were searching in for the past month. However, never did they claim seeing anything that could possibly relate to the case.
Yesterday, both Chris and Roberta Laundrie told the police that they were willing to search for their son at the very same location.
Recent video footage has even emerged showing how authorities who recently joined the case mentioned to the Laundries that they may have found something major that could possibly belong to their son. But only after the items were verified by the FBI was the news made public, as mentioned in local reports.
One officer was seen carrying a transparent camping bag that contained the articles of interest belonging to the 23-year-old suspect in the homicide case of Gabby Petito.
As of now, law enforcement officials have gone about conducting another more thorough investigation of that area. Therefore, the area is also being restricted from the public due to the ongoing search taking place.
