Dog the Bounty Hunter has made a shocking claim just days after joining the hunt for wanted man Brian Laundrie.
Days ago, the 68-year-old TV star who goes by the name Duane Chapman announced that he is joining the manhunt for Brian Laundrie before vowing to find the 23-year-old who remains a person of interest following his fiancé Gabby Petito’s disappearance and death.
Now, Dog has claimed that he had discovered the campsite where Laundrie and his parents were allegedly staying earlier this month.
As the TV star insists, Brian and his parents stayed in Fort De Soto Park, which is located some 75 miles from their home in North Port, Florida, for several days before Brian’s disappearance on September 17 and the discovery of Petito’s body on September 19.
“They were registered, went through the gate. They’re on camera. They were here,” Duane said in an interview with Fox News.
“We think at least if he’s not here right now, we are sure he was caught on camera as he went in the gate — that he was here for sure. Not over in the swamp.”
As it was previously revealed, the authorities launched an extensive search for Laundrie in the swamplands. The search bore no results and reportedly cost as much as $200,000 per day.
“Allegedly, what we’re hearing, is two people left on the 8th. Three people came in on the 6th, and two people left on the 8th. I think he’s been here for sure,” Chapman added as he insisted that wanted man Brian Laundrie is linked to the campsite he had discovered.
According to Dog, he had already received more than one thousand tips from the public and he gets fresh leads every ten minutes.
Meanwhile, the Laundries family lawyer, Steven Bertolino, maintains that “concerned” parents Chris and Roberta have no idea where their son is.
“Chris and Roberta Laundrie do not know where Brian is. They are concerned about Brian and hope the FBI can locate him,” he said in a statement.
“The speculation by the public and some in the press that the parents assisted Brian in leaving the family home or in avoiding arrest on a warrant that was issued after Brian had already been missing for several days is just wrong.”
