Brian Laundrie’s sister has come under scrutiny after it was revealed her previous statements contradict the actual events.
Back on September 17, on the day of her brother’s disappearance, Cassie Laundrie insisted that she hadn’t talked to her brother after he had returned from his cross-country trip without his fiancée Gabby Petito.
“I haven’t been able to talk to him. I wish I could talk to him. I’ve cooperated in every way that I can. I wish I had information or I would give more,” Cassie said on ABC’s Good Morning America.
Now, however, it was revealed that Cassie saw her brother not on one but on two occasions after the now-wanted man returned from his trip alone.
As the Laundrie family attorney Steve Bertolino confirmed, Cassie saw Brian when he visited her home on September 1.
She also saw him just days later when he went camping in Fort De Soto Park together with his parents. Though it was previously thought that Brian and his parents were the only members of the family who stayed at the park from September 6 to 7, the full truth is slowly starting to surface.
After Dog the Bounty Hunter revealed that he had obtained information indicating that Cassie was also present in the park at the same time as her family, it has come to light that she joined her parents and brother at their campsite on September 6.
Though Cassie’s previous statement clearly contradicts the actual events, attorney Bertolino insisted that it is all just a big misunderstanding.
“Any prior communication by Cassie that does not reflect these dates is simply a difference of relating an answer to a question misinterpreted by Cassie or poorly posed by the inquirer. Law enforcement agencies are well aware of these dates,” he said.
