Kaci Shepard Myers, 33, lost her childhood canine Cloe in 2017.
Despite being heartbroken, accepting the marriage proposal a year later from her partner Adam, 35, helped get happiness back into her life.
However, Kaci had planned for Cloe to be part of her wedding and without her four-legged best friend, it just didn’t feel complete. She looked at the dogs of family and friends to fill in for the departed Cloe but couldn’t find the right fit.

That’s when Kaci’s three bridesmaids, Megan Flatt, 30, Jessica Holt, 36, and Sarah Inge, 33, concocted a plan to give Kaci the perfect wedding gift to make her wedding complete.
With help from Adam, they found Brody, a ten-week-old Corgi. Kaci had previously seen Brody online and had been lusting for him so he was the perfect gift to surprise Kaci with so that he could walk down the aisle as her ring bearer.
Kaci’s reaction was caught on camera as her friends presented her with the pup in her home in Waldport, Oregon. Her shrieks of joy could probably be heard all over the neighborhood.
Kaci, a salon owner, said: “When I was 12-years-old my mother passed away so when I was 15 my dad surprised me with a Maltese puppy called Cloe.
“She really got our whole family through the loss of my mother – she was our everything, our rock, and my very best friend.
“We had her for 16 years until she passed away two-years-ago and I can absolutely heartbroken, I felt completely lost.
“I had always dreamed of having Cloe at my big day and walking down the aisle, so when Adam popped the question I couldn’t help but think that she wouldn’t be there.
“I discussed getting another dog several times, and knew that I wanted a Corgi, so started looking on some pages online and sending all of the links to Adam and my friends – but as a breed, Corgi’s are very expensive, and we couldn’t afford one with the wedding too.
“Just weeks after falling in love with Brody on Facebook, I walked into my house and there he was sat on my best friend’s lap.
“I couldn’t believe what was going on – I was so excited to see my best friends who live far away that I didn’t even notice him at first.
“My first thought was that they were there to tell me they were bailing out of the wedding or something, not that they’d got me a puppy!
“The girls then explained to me that they had got me a puppy to help me deal with the loss of Cloe and hopefully fill the four-legged role on my big day, I couldn’t believe they had done something like this as a wedding gift.”
It took a few moments for the significance of being given her dream pup to sink in but once it did, Kaci couldn’t hold back from her emotions.
She said: “I was in so much shock, but then when it sunk in I instantly fell in love and fell to the floor with him, balling my eyes out.
“I couldn’t believe that he was the same puppy that I had found on Facebook a few weeks before, it was so meant to be.
“Since he’s been in my life he has put a massive smile on my face and has helped me come to terms with the loss of Cloe.
“Everyone that meets him falls in love with him straight away – he’s just so cute and happy.
“He definitely stole my thunder when he was our ring bearer at our wedding on August 31.”
