Bride And Groom Under Fire After They Offered Guests Different Meals Based On How Much They Spent On Their Gifts


A couple went under fire after they offered their wedding guests different meal plans at reception.

According to their invitation cards, those who spent under $250 would be eating swordfish or roast chicken while those who spent $251 to $500 were able to choose between poached salmon and sliced steak.

Golden gift givers, those who spent $501 to $1,000, would have lobster tails or filet mignon, while platinum gift givers, guests who spent $1,001 to $2,000, were able to enjoy 2lb lobster and souvenir champagne goblet.

All of the ‘gift classes’ were able to take a meal from the choices below their category. However, people were not impressed with the bride and groom’s plan.

One person said: “How do they know people are going to mark the invitation correctly – they won’t know until after the gifts are opened and by then I will already be home with my fancy goblet.”

Another wrote: “Wow, sliced steak – no way – I would just put in $5 and be happy with my chicken.”

Those who require a kosher or vegetarian meal were also told that they had to be platinum gift givers.

“So if I keep kosher or I’m vegetarian I have to pay $1000!? I’ll tell you what to do with your champagne goblet,” one person said.

“At this point I am smuggling chickpeas in my purse,” another woman wrote.

“For those vegetarian seeking a $1000 dish to dine on tonight you will be eating: Black watermelon and truffle curry, topping a bed of wild rice cooked in pure Kona Nigari water. For dessert you will be having tiramisu made with the coffee beans that monkeys poop out,” someone else commented.
