You enthusiastically plan for your wedding and think you know everything about the person you’re going to marry.
Sometimes engaged couples have doubts when they are choosing their life partner. But what if you find out that you are going to spend the rest of your life with the person who is the best match for you? Well it happened to this lucky woman.
Minutes before a North Carolina bride named Maggie Earwood strolled down the aisle, she found out what kind of man her husband to be was. Her prospective spouse, U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Caleb Earwood said there was one thing to be taken care of before any ceremony could take place.
He wanted to pray with his prospective wife before the ceremony.
The heart touching moment was caught by wedding photographer, Dwayne Schmidt. “As soon as their hands touched he started getting emotional,” Schmidt recalled of the scene.
Per wedding custom, the couple didn’t look at each other before the wedding. They held each other’s hands, not facing each other with eyes closed.
In an interview with TODAY, Caleb Earwood told about the couple’s vows: “We were about to take our first steps in life together, and we didn’t want to take a step without it being in God’s will,”
“I prayed to God for my beautiful and intelligent wife that he blessed me with, and the amazing family I was marrying into.”
“When I first grabbed his hand, he was shaking really bad, so I knew he was really nervous,” Maggie recalled. “It relieved me to know the person I was getting ready to marry felt the same way about God.”
Maggie couldn’t stop herself from crying, and neither could the wedding guests. “There were no dry eyes in the room,” she expressed.
The newlyweds couple and photographer never thought that the beautiful photo would become an internet sensation, but they don’t mind that it did. “We’re thankful that our picture is able to bless so many people and touch that many hearts,” Caleb smiled.
