A woman has been dubbed ‘insane’ after sending her brother’s pregnant wife a diet plan along with the invitation to her wedding.
As an anonymous man revealed in his Reddit post, he and his wife received a controversial wedding invitation from his own sister.
According to the disappointed brother, his sister, who is about to get married in a few months, attached a diet plan aimed at his wife, who is pregnant, to her wedding invitation.
“She came to me and handed me the envelope and she looked so upset almost crying. I opened it and found that my sister sent a 30-day pre-wedding diet plan,” the man wrote as he recalled the moment his wife gave him his sister’s wedding invitation.
“I don’t know whose idea this is or who made this plan but it’s awful. Literally the worst thing I’ve seen in a while.
“My sister basically wanted my wife (my wife’s pregnant btw) to lose weight by following this diet so she could look ‘fit’ at the wedding.”
To make matters even worse, the man discovered his sister didn’t even bother to adjust the diet plan to his wife’s needs, whereas the pregnant woman is allergic to some of the foods on the list.
After confronting his sister, the man was told by his parents that he should be more understanding of his sister. The family also defended the bride saying she sent diet plans to all of her wedding guests.
Meanwhile, the bride accused her brother, who threw the invitation away, of “trying to ruin her day” by objecting to her plan.
“I reminded her that my wife is pregnant but she said I was making a big deal out of it causing drama and refusing to go with the flow. We argued for 30 minutes then I hung up,” the man added.
After asking Reddit if he was right to question his sister’s insensitive diet plan, netizens were quick to voice support for the man.
“Your family is insane. As her brother, you are to support her as much as she is to respect your wife,” someone wrote.
“Who the hell demands someone else go on a diet to attend a f****** wedding?” another one questioned.
One person suggested: “You could send your sister a 30-day pre-wedding personality repair plan.”
