The wedding is the most special day of our lives, we all want to make our wedding day as special as we can, we plan, venue, wedding dresses, food, guest list, and much more and we make sure that everything should be up to the point.
Weddings are stressful events and one of the most important parts is getting the perfect dress. And there are multiple styles to choose from, with a fishtail, princess, lacy or even long sleeves.
Zips, corsets, and buttons all make getting in and out of a wedding dress difficult. And if you’ve opted for a full, princess style skirt, it’s even harder doing simple things such as climbing stairs or using the loo.
A bride will often have a friend who is tasked with helping them answers nature’s call on the big day. Holding up layers of tulle, taffeta, and netting, it’s the in the unwritten handbook of bridesmaid duties.
But one woman appears to have solved that problem with a genius hack, involving an Ikea bag. The big, sturdy blue bags, which sometimes double up as laundry baskets, has been given a new lease of life.
The bride, while on the loo, has managed to scoop up the skirt of her dress and put it in the bag, allowing her to use the toilet with ease.
The photo has gone viral since being uploaded to Facebook, racking up more than 500 comments, and people praised her ingenuity.
She wrote: “Well, I got married a few weeks ago (in a mermaid wedding dress) and I was really worried about going to the bathroom and not being able to … handle me.
“Someone helping or watching me going to the bathroom on my wedding day?
“Not being able to have free hands to use the toilet paper? Or even worse if my period decides to show? NO WAY!
“Some stuff like this bridal bathroom helper exists but are expensive just because it is wedding related.
“It took only 3 minutes.
“What I like best is it’s almost free and allows me to make my life easier on my wedding day.”
People are questioning the exact logistics of the bag, and informing their friends they need to take trips to Ikea ahead of their big day.
One person said: “Wedding prezzie sorted.”
It seemed brides-to-be were eyeing up the bag as a potential for their big day.
One asked: “Reckon a big Tesco one would work then u don’t have to be on toilet duty with me.”
While another said: “Just get me an Ikea bag and you won’t need to help my pee.”
This person rejoiced: “Don’t need the fancy expensive netted one just get me an Ikea bag.”
And another post said: “Do we need to take a trip to Ikea?”
While this comment said: “Fancy an Ikea bag as your something blue?”
