A bridesmaid ruined her oldest and closest friend’s wedding and the bride decided to distance herself from her after the incident.
The bride took to Reddit to share the incident and take Redditor’s advice.
The bride told that she asked her three best friends to be her bridesmaids two years ahead of her wedding.
However, one of them, who was her oldest and closest friend, ruined her big day after she made an announcement of her own.
The bride hired a fancy penthouse apartment for herself and the bridesmaids to get ready.
They had champagne but her friend, who is the biggest party animal, didn’t drink.
When they asked her the reason, she said she was pregnant.
The bride wrote: ‘Of course I was happy for her but obviously the focus was then on Laura and her pregnancy and not us getting ready for my wedding, something I had been planning for two years.’
The bride said when the photographer was taking her pictures with the bridesmaids, her friend was cradling her baby bump instead of holding her bouquet.
When the photographer asked her to hold her bouquet, she said: “Oh it’s ok I’d prefer to stand like this”.
The bride was unhappy as the pictures were looking weird.
But when her friend came on stage for her speech, the bride had not expected what she did.
Her friend made an announcement of her pregnancy and kept talking about it instead of congratulating the couple.
The friend said: “And I’m so excited to announce that as Bride’s best friend, I’d like her to be an honorary aunt to my baby who is due summer 2020!”
Everyone was very happy because she was the bride’s oldest and closest friend but the bride was unhappy as the attention was not on her and her husband.
She wrote: ‘I felt so upset on my wedding day and haven’t really spoken to Laura much since.
She has since sent me a text saying I’m acting like a spoiled brat and the world doesn’t revolve around me.’
She asked Redditors if she is right for distancing herself from her friend.
The Redditors supported her and called her ‘rude’ and ‘disrespectful’ for deliberately drawing attention to her pregnancy.
