Citizens In Britain Asked To Remain Home For Up To 14 Days If They Have A Fever


In an effort to minimize the possibility of an outbreak of coronavirus at a large scale, any British citizen with a cough, cold fever, sniffle or any other signs of coronavirus will be instructed to remain inside their homes.

This extreme measure will be taken within the coming fortnight following an imminent threat of the virus spreading in the country outrageously.

These measures are being planned to avoid the UK from having the same fate as Italy. Being the worst-hit nation in the whole of Europe, Italy had to be put under complete lockdown.

Experts are estimating if Britain does not take serious measures now, the nation’s situation will be the same as that of Italy in “two or three weeks.”

After two recent coronavirus-related deaths and the increase of the death toll to five, British nationals were alerted to be ready to put themselves on a self-quarantine.

According to the British health experts, the stay-at-home restriction can be very useful in decreasing the number of corona cases by as much as half across the UK, making it easy for the National Health Services to tackle the disease.

According to the prediction of the NHS, these measures will bring down the number of vulnerable citizens by 30 per cent and will possibly save a lot of lives.

The two latest coronavirus-related deaths in the country were two elderly people, both were 70 years in age and had other health complications as well.

One of them died at St. Helier Hospital in South London while the other was lost at the Royal Wolverhampton Hospital. As of now, there are 319 confirmed cases of the disease in the UK.

Chief medical officer of England, Professor Chris Whitty, predicted that the number of cases is expected to increase soon and at a fast pace.

During a briefing at Downing Street, the professor said that the UK is “in the early days of the epidemic.”

He continued: “We are now very close to the time, probably within the next ten to 14 days, when the modeling would imply we should move to a situation where everybody with even minor respiratory tract infections or a fever should be self-isolating for a period of seven days.”

If that happens, millions of British citizens will be forced into lockdown, even without proper testing for the disease.

Speaking on the matter, Prime Minister Johnson asked the people showing the symptoms of the disease to take some time off for the greater good of the nation and to avoid spreading the disease to the ones most vulnerable to it.

He said: “There is no hiding from the fact that the coronavirus outbreak will present significant challenges for the UK just as it does in other countries.

“But if we continue to look out for one another, to pull together in a united and national effort, I have no doubt we can and will rise to that challenge.”

Johnson also made it clear that it is time for the nation to move from the contain stage to the delay phase of the outbreak.

The Prime Minister added that it was “absolutely critical” to make the right decisions at the right time. He also warned that failing to act properly can prove to be “counterproductive.”

Asking the Brits to avoid panic buying, the Prime Minister said: “We are confident we have a fantastic supply chain. In terms of preparations, it is very important that everybody should behave responsibly and think about others.”
