Bar owners have been promoting their reduced prices of beers across Costa Blanca and Costa Del Sol to attract customers amidst the lockdown.
A war of prices has emerged between the two coastline stretches after Benidorm bar slashed their beer prices to as low as 50p once the tourism starts again.
However, this suggestion by Benidorm can take a business way from many other bar owners in the town, which has resulted in a price war.
Mark Sutherland, who is the owner of a beachfront business located in Fuengirola, Costa Del Sol told that he is completely ready for this war.
He added that there is no need to make the hassle of going to Benidorm when people can get extra service here a the Costa del Sol. If the game is about offering beer cheap, then he is all up for it.
He revealed that he has already contacted multiple beer suppliers to compare the best deal he can get on the lesser popular brands.
Presently his business sells Ice cold Amber lager at € 3; however, if customers are attracted to cheaper rates, then he is willing to do that.
A beer supplier who sells to the businesses across Spain revealed that they have been getting a large number of phone calls from restaurants and bar owners about the offers available on the booze once the lockdown ends.
Big Dave, a barman from Anchor pub located in Torreblanca also raised fighting talks over the price by saying that businesses across the coast are willing to match the price offered by Benidorm.
He added that if Benidorm thinks that it can have the customers all to themselves, then someone should tell them that Costa del Sol is capable of fighting head-on with them any time.
Prior to the coronavirus popular tourist destinations used to come up with enticing and affordable offers to attract British tourists. At the beginning of the year, new laws were introduced that banned happy hour deals.
However, Gary Adamson who owns the Bars Abroad situated in Costa del Sol forecasted that the holidaymakers would be benefiting from such offers again in the coming summer.
He told that it was a clever move by Benidorm, but it is evident that everyone will be jumping on this bandwagon to attract tourists. And, people are going to heavily advertise happy hour deals.
