‘Cake Boss’ star Buddy Valastro shared another update concerning his health following his freak bowling accident.
Weeks after his right hand was impaled by a metal rod in a bowling accident, the popular American baker has shared an update about his situation as he revealed he underwent his third surgery.
“Hey guys, just had my third hand surgery.
It’s been a rough road to recovery but I’m hanging in there.
Just wanted to check in and let you all know how much I appreciate all the love, we’ll wishes, and positive vibes! Keep em coming!” the 43-year-old Carlo’s Bakery owner revealed in his Instagram post as he shared a photo of his bandaged hand.“Special shout out to Dr. Michelle Carson over at HSS @hspecialsurgery and her amazing team, for taking the BEST care of me!”
Buddy’s third surgery for his dominant hand follows weeks after the reality TV star revealed that he was involved in a “really bad accident” at his New Jersey home.
“Hey guys, Buddy here, I had a really bad accident the other day at my house with my hand … thank you for all your love and support, we’re going to get through this together,” Buddy said at the time.
As the baker’s representative previously revealed in an interview with People, the bizarre bowling accident occurred at the TV star’s home as a bowling pinsetter malfunctioned, prompting Buddy to attempt to remove the pin from the mechanism manually.
According to the People, the 43-year-old’s dominant right hand then “became lodged and compressed inside the unit” before getting repeatedly impaled by a metal rod.
Buddy was eventually rescued from the mechanism by his two sons, aged 13 and 16, who cut through the rod using a saw.
Following surgeries at NJ’s Morristown Memorial Hospital and Manhattan’s Hospital for Special Surgery, the Cake Boss star was sent home for recovery. He now also underwent his third hand surgery.
Sending prayers for Buddy’s fast recovery.
