Dillon was arrested and charged with burglary, resisting arrest and intimidation after he broke into a home and tried to kidnap a 6-year-old girl. The child’s grandparents managed to beat him up.
It is reported by Boone County Sheriff that the burglar kicked down the door of the grandparent’s flat and told Patricia and Martin Roth that he was “taking the child.”
But the grandparents beat him up and held him off until cops came. Officers said they found Dillon agitated and shirtless outside the couple’s apartment.
Authorities said that Dillon told them the girl was being sexually abused and claimed she was his child. Clenching his fists, he told police that “he would fight all of us and kill us.”
Officers then fired three stun guns at him but they were not effective. When they handcuffed him, the 37-year-old continued to scream and kick.
Fortunately, the 6-year-old girl was safe but was reported to have been terrified.
“I was sound asleep in my bedroom and this guy came kicking in and said, ‘You have my daughter,’” Patricia Roth told Fox59.
“I was nervous, very nervous. I was shaking so bad. I don’t understand why he picked our apartment, I’ll never figure that one out.
“I wouldn’t want him walking back in my apartment again. He will regret it the next time.”
Roth also told the media that she believed the intruder may have been on drugs. “I hope he gets the help he needs and gets himself back on his feet,” she added.
Dillon has been imprisoned with a $75,000 bond. In a phone interview, he said the incident was a ‘big misunderstanding.’
“I was under the impression that maybe my daughter might be over there in that apartment complex,” he expressed. “I wasn’t looking for anybody’s child but my own.”
He added: “I am truly sorry for coming to your apartment door, for waking you up.”
