Milwaukee County Transit System bus driver spotted a child wearing a diaper and a onesie on a freeway overpass in freezing temperatures near South 4th and West Mitchell streets.
The child, who was less than a year old, was wandering barefoot, wearing a diaper and a onesie on a freeway overpass when bus driver Irena Ivic spotted her.
The bus driver stopped the bus and ran across the street to carry her to the bus. One of the bus passengers gave her coat to the girl as she was wearing just a diaper and a onesie. Irena then called for help.

Bus camera footage shows the bus driver Irena Ivic jumping out of the bus after spotting the child on a freeway overpass in freezing temperatures to rescue her.
“Oh my God, I’m shaking,” Ivic can be heard saying in the video.
Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele honored Ivic for her heroic act. Abele said: “She did a lot more than her job. She did the right thing. I don’t take that kind of compassion for granted.”
When the video of her heroic act was posted online, people praised the kind-hearted bus driver. One user wrote: ‘Excellent, God bless her a reward for caring of a baby’ while another said: ‘God bless that woman for saving that child’.
The third one wrote: ‘Thanking God that YOU found her & not someone meaning her harm. You are a hero’ while another said: ‘This woman has my respect and love for taking care of that child as we all should do in that situation. Bless the children and the angels of this world.’
While some criticized the parents for leaving the child all alone.
