“He didn’t choose to be out there risking his life like some idiots who ignore the warnings. He was doing the job he loved to help the country get through this.”

Mrs. Anne said the doctors told the family to go out of the room when he collapsed and died alone before they could say goodbye.

Earlier, Mr. Nyack warned his colleagues about dirty buses and the lack of safety equipment.

Mrs. Anne has slammed the city authorities for putting the lives of the bus workers at risk and not providing them safety equipment.

She has blamed Mayor Sadiq Khan for the death of her son and said he has failed to protect the people who keep the country going.

She said: “It’s just devastating that these drivers work so hard serving the public, taking NHS staff to work, and they are sent to risk their lives in dirty buses with no protection.”

The grieving mother wrote to Mr. Nyack employers Metroline in March and urged them to provide the bus drivers safety equipment to protect themselves and also complained about the dirty buses.
