A mother has shared a distressing video of her 2-year-old son singing ‘Bye-Bye Daddy’ at his father’s memorial stone.
The kid’s father, Darren Langton, 33, passed away all of a sudden due to unknown causes at his place in Dorchester, Dorset, just three days post his son Harvey’s first birthday in October 2017.
The kid and his mother, Jessica Pillinger, visit Langton’s headstone every Sunday to keep him alive in their hearts.
Unable to comprehend the grave’s meaning, the little one shows his dad cars while his mother lays down flowers to the memorial.
The heart-touching footage portrays the toddler lying on the inscribed stone as he plays with his vehicles while singing ‘bye-bye daddy’ again and again.
Jessica wishes, the video, which has been shared ahead of Father’s Day, depicts the boy’s connection with his dad, even though he has spent just a year with him.
Jessica is glad to see her son playing at his father’s memorial stone. Meanwhile, she also feels it is heartbreaking to think how good a connection the two would have had if her husband were alive.
She adds that this why she clicks pictures so that when he grows up, he would be able to see that he did participate.
The woman thinks that as such a young kid, he would not be able to understand the concept of life and death.
But when he does, she wants to be the first one to tell him why his daddy is not around. She doesn’t want it to come from someone else to him.
She also tells that she would tell him the day he asks her. By telling him earlier, she feels, his world would turn upside down.
Every night, Harvey picks a photograph and his mother narrates him the story what the picture is about. This way, he gets to know more about how he spent the one-year of his life with his dad.
