Caitlyn Jenner, who previously supported former President Donald Trump, is ‘actively exploring’ a run for California governor, Axios reported.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star is now being assistant by Caroline Wren after she sought out political consultants.
Her manager, Sophia Hutchins, previously shut down reports of the reality star’s interest in the gubernatorial run.
In February, Hutchins said that Jenner “has never considered running for governor and is very happy doing the work that she is doing to promote LGBT rights and spending time with her 18 grandchildren and 10 children.”
In a 2020 interview with PEOPLE, Jenner said that she has changed her thinking in many ways. She said that she no longer identifies as a Republican but is more “economically conservative, socially progressive.”
Jenner, who was 65 when she started to make the transition, was previously married to Linda Thompson from 1981 to 1986 and Kris Kenner from 1991 to 2015.
She has sons Brandon and Brody Jenner with ex-wife Linda and shares two daughters with Kris – Kylie and Kendall.
She was also previously married to Chrystie Jenner from 1972 to 1981 and has a daughter, Cassandra Marino, and son, Burt Jenner.
Jenner’s potential run coincides with momentum from the Gavin Newson recall efforts.
In March, Newsom’s strategist Sean Clegg told Politico: “We’re gonna take this extremely seriously… we’re gonna get ready and fight like hell.”
Former San Diego mayor Kevin Faulooner and former US Representative Doug Ose are also in the running to potentially replace Newsom.
One person commented: “California needs a strong Republican to clean that house.”
Another wrote: “UH SORRY NO, NOT TODAY NO Kardashian Krap is going to run California … Kevin Faulkner, best bet!!”
A third added: “Just what they need. The icing on the cake.”
