Howie Mandel complimented her “Audrey Hepburn” style. Blushing, Calysta mentioned that the hair style wasn’t entirely her choice. A year ago she went through a tough battle against Stage 3 ovarian cancer. Thankfully she defeated the cancer and was thriving but her hair hadn’t entirely grown back yet. Truly inspiring, but she went on to say that she had gone on the show to tell people to follow their dreams, no matter what.

She chose the song “Fight Song,” which is a perfect fit for her experiences, but also her amazing strength. She manages to impress not only the audience but also the judges. Her amazing control and beautiful vocals stun the crowd. She has a standing ovation only a minute into her song. Her mother is in tears off-stage. Her ability to impress not only the crowd but Simon Cowell show how much more life has in store for this survivor. Truly inspiring.
