At least two attackers executed a purposeful attack on the home of two policemen, where they were living with their newborn child.

Luckily, the two officers and their infant was able to escape the facility with safety although six bullets penetrated through the walls.

The police are on the look for at least two of the assailants, captured in the security footage as shown above. All indications point to the possibility that this was a deliberate attack. Most notably, the shooting began late Tuesday night at 11:45 pm.

Joseph Wysocki, the Camden police chief, said that the department understands the attacks on its officers as an attack on them and the institution. He said all 400 of the officers under his leadership have been hurt by these show of violence towards the practitioners of justice.

Describing the assailants as thugs, the visibly emotional Wysocki said every single member of the force are willing to give everything to capture the thugs and bring them to justice. He seemed especially angry because the two officers just recently started a family 10 days ago.

The husband had been working as a police officer for 4 years while his wife had been serving in the force for 2 years. As of now, both the officers are said to be on leave for family and medical reasons. None of them were said to have sustained serious physical injuries.

Wysocki said since they don’t have any information on the assailants, they do not have a clear understanding of the motives behind the heinous attacks. However, the chief did say that everyone in the neighborhood knew that the two officers lived together in that house.

He added that he can state with certainty that whatever the exact reasons behind the attacks were, he knows that the assailants were specifically aiming for the two officers. The police has identified 3 people behind the attacks – the 2 gunmen and a driver who drew a Honda minivan.

A FBI agent said that there is the chance this was an attack on law enforcement officers. Moreover, this agent said the possibility that a group of attackers are specifically aiming for police officers is by itself a great threat to Camden and the community.
