CStating it as the herbal product that has benefits for the body, cannabis has been made legal in many countries now.
But even though it is herbal, it still is a drug that plays with mind and cognition. It creates illusions in mind and slows the pace of your mind down.
To a person who is high on cannabis, the world moves slow and everything that happens around happens to keep them on target.
The drug sends a person far away from reality.
Yes, you may think that once the effect of the drug is gone everything gets back to being fine again but this is not the truth.
It has been found out in a recent study that cannabis affects the mind of a teenager so severely that they can be left behind as much as 3 years in comparison to their classmates when it comes to brain development.
The research was carried out on 4,000 school kids in Canada, where cannabis is legal. It was found out that the drug was affecting young brains severely and the effects are worse than of alcohol.
Self-control is definitely harmed by the drug but that is not it, it was found out that basic reasoning and solving skills have been affected by the same too.
Meanwhile, a separate study found out something even more dangerous. According to this study, the main compound found in cannabis is called tetrahydrocannabinol is also proved to trigger schizophrenia in young minds.
The volunteers for the test started from 12-13 years. They were teenagers who have at least been on alcohol and cannabis for 4 years.
They were asked to take a few tests related to logical reasoning and problem-solving and it was found out that the smokers were far behind the teenagers who were into alcohol.
Special note – we are not promoting alcohol here, only trying to display the harmful effects of cannabis.
