Firefighters who were at war with the huge flames in New South Wales, Australia tripped over a hidden field, which had a cannabis crop.
The discovery was made on Sunday by the NSW Rural Fire Service, when they were exploring near the town of Tahmoor, west of Wollongong.
The firefighters decided to take a selfie together as they were surrounded by the marijuana plants and posted on their social media.
The hidden cannabis crops was found in an area, which was pretty close to the place where two firefighters lost their lives.
The RFS took the chance and tweeted the pictures of the two firefighters who were, Deputy Captain Geoffrey Keaton, 32 and Firefighter Andrew O’Dwyer, 36.
The two firefighters are remembered by the Australian prime minister Scott Morrison. Morrison said that the late firefighters were bravely defending their communities with dedication and unmatched spirit.
The RFS also reported on three more firefighters who were injured due to an accident. They have conveyed their thoughts to all the firefighters and their respective friends and family during such serious situations.
It is a devastating event, which turns out to be a pretty difficult fire season. With the recent turns of events, many kind souls have come up together and asking how they can provide their help to all the NSW families.
For which, the NSW RFS came up with a solution to set up a bank account so that they could collect a good deal of donation. The funds that have been received from all the helping people will be used here.
It will be distributed equally among the spouses of both Geoffrey Keaton and Andrew O’Dwyer, along with the tax receipts that will be given to the donors.
The donations are currently open and everyone is allowed to donate at the information provided by the NSW RFS.
