The former president had supposedly initiated the start of the Capitol Hill riots, but is now stepping back and has turned on the majority of his supporters who participated last January 6th.
Donald Trump tells an aide that he had seen television coverage of the event and comments, “This looks terrible. This is really bad”. He continues to comment and says that “these aren’t our people, these idiots with outfits. They look like Democrats”.
There were many who had dressed for the occasion which included camouflage gear, jackets made up of the American flags, cowboy hats, pictures of Abraham Lincoln and one of the most infamous protestor, one who showed up with a horned headdress.
There is a new book that is being released that unfolds the details of the riot. Vice President at the time, Mike Pence, had refused to follow Trump’s orders after the election results were released. There were multiple mobs that were Trump supporters attacking the police officers located at the White House, storming its grounds.
The book is titled “Landslide: The Final Days of the Trump Presidency” written by Michael Wolff. In the novel, it even mentions the former president’s wife, Ivanka Trump, about how she was talking about getting her children into private school during the time of the riots. She had been pleased about this topic of conversation, even though a mass amount of people were waiting for her to respond to the news.
After the Capitol had been stormed in on, Ivanka had supposedly “downplayed the issue” since she commented that the riot was just an “optics issue”.

Later on social media platform Twitter, he had been advised to tweet for them to go home, since he had tweeted for them to invade the Capitol in the first place. According to Wolff, Trump had tried to ignore the problem at hand and push the agenda that the election had been stolen from him.
The book touches on how Trump asks, “How bad is this?” Before commenting on the outfits of the protestors, calling them “idiots”.
