The funny incident occurred in Aylesbury Vale, Soulbury, England, where former England skipper Alastair Cook attracted a large crowd by attending a cricket match and showing his competitive side.
Mr. Cook is the 5th highest test run-scorer in the history who couldn’t hold back his disappointment while playing against amateurs in front of hundreds of fans.
In the clip, Cook appeared frustrated after a fielder accidentally dropped the ball.
According to 35-year-old Lee Gauntlett who caught the act on camera, Cook’s outburst showed just how much he “loves the game.”
“It was met by a lot of laughs and moans when the ball was dropped. He flings his hat on the floor in jovial despair. I was just lucky enough to catch it on camera,” he said.
“It just shows how much he loves to play cricket. He absolutely loves the game and clearly just loves to play with his mates.
“He is one of the greatest cricketers of all time but loves village cricket too. It’s great to see and it was great to be there to see him play.”
Lee also happens to be a former cricket star who turned up at the competition by mistake. Nevertheless, he decided to stay to see Cook in action.
“Village cricket is where it all started for him. It’s in line with the spirit of the sport. It’s not something you’d see footballers do,” Lee added of his passion.
“For us as village players it’s amazing to see one of the greatest players of all time turn out to play village cricket.”
