Peter Lyford, a 55-year-old from Auburn, Massachusetts was diagnosed with stage-four kidney disease in 2015.
With the case being so severe, Peter desperately needed a kidney transplant. However, finding a donor was very difficult.
As a wife of this loving man, Jennifer had to do everything she could do help her husband.
However, it seemed that she simply didn’t have any other options than to just wait for a miracle to happen.
That’s when she came up with this crazy plan.
She wrote a short message on her car – listing a phone number, and her husband’s blood type.
Other than that, Jennifer only wrote five additional words: “My husband needs a kidney.”

Initially, Jennifer didn’t think this would work. But as she went around the town driving in her car, people started to pay attention to the message.
She also went on to interview with the local news with her husband, hoping that someone out there would listen to her story and offer to help.
Then, the unthinkable happened.
Kelly Hoye, who lives in Bellingham, Massachusetts, was watching the news. With the matching blood type, Kelly decided to call Jennifer when she saw Peter interviewing with his three young daughters.
In an interview with WCVB, Kelly said that one of the reasons why she decided to donate her kidney was that she knew what Peter’s little girls must’ve been going through.
“My father died when I was young, and he was sick since I was 5. I knew what it was like to be them,” said Kelly.

So, Kelly called the number. When Jennifer and Peter picked up the phone, they could not believe what they were hearing.
Eventually, Peter and Kelly both successfully went through with the transplant.
Now, as the video shows, Peter and Kelly are like a family.
