A gang of friends recently went on a trip to Amsterdam for a one-0f-a-kind stag do experience.
The thing which made their excursion really unique was the fact that they weren’t accompanied by the groom himself.
So to make up for the deficiency and to ensure that the ‘stag’ doesn’t miss any of the fun, the group took a life-size cardboard cut-out of their buddy with them.
Wherever they went in the bustling city, they carried their ‘mate’ with themselves.
Steve Broadbent, the groom, had already married the love of his life in a registry office. However, Steve’s friends and his brother Ryan wanted him to experience the traditional way of marking an end to the single life.
Speaking to LADbible, Ryan said: “He’s my younger brother and we booked his stag do a few months ago, but at the last minute he said he couldn’t come.
“There was six of us in the end – including the cut-out – and we took him out on a day session and a night session in Amsterdam, took him to all the local haunts coffee shops, peep shows and gay bars.
“Everywhere we went people were coming out of nowhere and asking for photos with the cut-out and asking what the story was.
“We had a great laugh with it, actually.”
The group, from Sheffield, surely had an unbelievable experience as they explored every nook and corner of ‘The Dam’ – with their cardboard buddy, of course.
When Steve saw the photos of his mates carrying his cardboard cut-out with them, he was absolutely delighted.
Ryan said: “He loved the fact that we took the cardboard cut-out, we sent him all the pictures when we were over there.
“We’ve been to Amsterdam many times before and he’s been with us. He couldn’t work out whether it was this time or not, or how he got there.
“Some of them look like he’s really there, the ones in the nightclub for sure.
“He was a bit perplexed at the start but then we sent him the rest of the photos and told him what the joke was and he was laughing. He thought it was good joke.”
