The chief writer for Tucker Carlson’s show has resigned after a CNN report that found out that the writer had been posting racist, sexist and just overall bigoted comments on an online forum.
Blake Neff, pictured on the right in the image above, has posted various posts online in which he had participated in various online forums that all verged upon criminal.
For instance, Neff had initiated and updated a 5 year old thread in which he seemed to disclose personal details of a certain woman. He had invited other users to comment on her and her dating life in an overwhelmingly discriminatory and mocking manner.
CNN Business was the source that picked up and contacted Neff over this behavior on Thursday. On Friday, a Fox News spokesperson told CNN that Neff had resigned. Neither Neff nor Carlson has made any statements over Neff’s resignation.
The personal and professional relationship between Neff and Carlson goes back multiple years. Before Neff joined Fox News 4 years ago, he worked as a reporter in a Conservative news media that was co-founded by Carlson.
As an alumni of Dartmouth University, Neff had recently disclosed both the influence of the show and his involvement in the show. Saying that Carlson’s show has great sway in the media environment of today, Neff claimed that everything that the host was reading off was written or approved by him.
Carlson himself had previously admitted in a 2018 interview, when he singled out Neff as a key contributor in the script writing process. Neff was also mentioned in Carlson’s book “Ship of Fools”, where he was credited for helping with the research.
This shocking revelation comes as “Tucker Carlson Tonight” continues to soar in ratings – in fact, it was the highest rated TV show of the last quarter and became the most viewed cable news program in history. President Trump has mentioned the show multiple times in his tweets.
Carlson’s influence in the conservative circle rose in parallel with his show’s ratings. Some insiders and pundits even expected the host to launch his own presidential campaign in 2024. The host has consistently stated that he will stay as a journalist.
