The phrase “raining cats and dogs” refers to falling rain that is so strong it’s like the ruckus cats and dogs make when they fight.
But whoever coined that phrase probably didn’t know enough about cats and dogs because Archer, a husky, and Niqo, a tabby cat, became unlikely best friends and love going on walks together as can be seen in the video below:

If anything, this pair of best friends show us that our differences don’t need to keep us apart.
Ben Murray, 30, bought Archer as a puppy in 2012 after he saw a photo and immediately fell in love with the dog.
Ben said: “It was quite a reckless and impulsive decision. I immediately contacted the breeder without meeting him and had him [Archer] delivered a couple of weeks later.
“I can trust him off the lead (most of the time). He’s very loyal, very stubborn and very loving.”
In the meantime, Niqo is a tabby cat who hails from Toronto, Canada.
Ben had no idea that adopting the kitty would spark such a strong bond between cat and dog that it would touch even people who don’t know them. They were best friends from the first day they met.
Niqo often cuddles up to Archer and the pair even go on walks together. Ben finally decided to take pictures of the two walking and share them on Instagram so that everyone can share in the joy of watching the two pals have the time of their lives.
The pair have already “conquered” Bristol, where they live and have also explored London and Taunton.
“We had to bring Archer to the vet and Niqo came straight up to him to say hi,” said Ben.
“They’re both really confident. Niqo is very affectionate and he loves to cuddle. I had always wanted a cat, and I thought they should grow up together.
“It was a year or so of walking when I decided to finally learn how to use my camera so I could document their adventures better.
“At first it was a ploy to get pet food, but I got really into photography. I much prefer to capture them in natural moments. I really enjoy it as a creative outlet.
“It has just been a hobby. Eventually, I’d like to make a photo book and sell prints.”
Ben should really follow through on that because it’s sure to become a bestseller!
