This is an incredible moment a small kitty bravely chased a cute elephant that wandered into its property searching for food.
The pet cat named Simba was not intimidated by the large but very adorable animal trying to raid the home for some food in Nakhon Nayok, Thailand.
A viral photo shows the 3-year-old feline trying to stop the elephant from entering their house. The jumbo then turned around and walked away empty-trunked.
People in the neighborhood said the elephant is named Pai Slick, 35, and is known for trampling on residents’ gardens while looking for food.
Amnat Norasin, a local park ranger, said: “The elephant lives in the forest but he often walks around the homes at night to look for food. People know who he is.
“The house owner said his cat is aggressive and doesn’t like other animals entering his territory.”
In Thailand, around 2,000 elephants are living in the wild and an estimated 2,000 more are in captivity.
Elephants are a protected animal in the country and killing them carries a maximum sentence of three years in jail and a fine of 1,000 baht ($33).
In another incident, a baby elephant has been photographed trying to hide behind a light pole.
The cheeky animal believed it could hide behind the narrow pole after being caught munching on sugarcane in a field.
It stood perfectly still as the people checking the area shone a light on its hiding spot. So funny and adorable!
One person commented: “Oh my goodness that adorable baby elephant eating the sugarcane while hiding behind a light pole! That’s just to cute for words!!”
Another wrote: “Awww, if I lived there I’d feed the elephant. I adore elephants.”
