The incident occurred while Max’s owner, Maya Gurrin and her husband, were watching a movie. According to CBS Los Angeles, the couple noticed a ‘shadow of a tail’ outside of their home.
When they checked the porch, they were shocked to find their cat Max being cornered by three vicious coyotes.
“They were completely surrounding him,” Gurrin told CBS Los Angeles, adding that she shooed the animals away.
But when they reviewed their security cameras, she found that their feline had been fighting against the wild animals long before she got involved.
“I couldn’t believe it,” she expressed. “We’re still shocked.”
In the video, Max the brave cat is seen standing his ground as three coyotes tried to attack him. But the feline did not back down and even seized upon toward the coyotes when they tried to come closer.
The feline’s courage took the wild animals by surprise as they started backing up as Max continued to scare them away.
“He’s always been crazy. If this were to happen to any cat, it would be him,” Gurrin said.
Gurrin and her husband are now want to make sure that Max will never experience such horrifying incident again. She also said that their feline will now spend his days inside the house.
“You don’t see videos like that,” she said to CBS Los Angeles. “You see them getting eaten. It could have been so different. We’re so lucky.”
