If you have a dog or a cat, you’ve probably noticed that there are times when they just love to watch the television or moving images on our other gadgets.
While they don’t perceive moving images the same way we do, both dogs and cats can see what’s going on while watching TV according to scientists.
In this particular video, Titan the Cat from Texas was caught on camera getting freaked out when a puma appeared on the TV while he was licking himself.
Despite paying no attention to the TV as he was minding his own business, Titan panicked and ran away the moment he saw the bigger version of himself in the corner of his eye.
Just months earlier, another pet owner posted a video of his dog crying out loud while watching the Lion King.
While the couple recording their pet admitted everything went normal up to the tragic scene in which Mufasa died, Luna completely changed her attitude after the king, the father of Simba, fell to his death.
As Simba wailed and attempted to revive his dead father in the movie, Luna was seen changing positions nervously while whining out loud.
As a veterinary behaviorist of Massachusetts’ Tufts University explained, dogs’ eyes are able to registering images much quicker than humans do. For them to be able to enjoy a movie as we do, however, they need to watch it on newer television sets that show more frames per second than older alternatives.
Additionally, dogs have dichromatic vision, unlike humans who have trichromatic vision. While we can see the full range of colors, our furry buddies are limited to the range of two main colors, blue and yellow.
