Celebrities Are Furious At ‘Color Blind Casting’ Calling Diversity Part Of R*cism


The controversy surrounding Channel 5’s new drama series of Anne Boleyn continues as actor Laurence Fox slams the network over their diversity agenda, referring to it as pure racism.

In the new show, black actress Jodie Turner-Smith was cast to play the role of Anne Boleyn in the new series. Moreover, the first episode left so many people in awe as the actress shared a kiss alongside Jane Seymore in one of the drama’s scenes.

Controversial actor Laurence Fox didn’t appreciate what he saw and therefore took to his Twitter account to give his two cents on the matter last night. And that’s where he declared the producer’s attempts of a diversity agenda as pure racism.

As it is, the famous drama on Channel 5 had already sparked much debate and controversy around the board after news broke about Jodie Turner-Smith being the title lead role, even though she was black.

However, 43-year-old actor Fox didn’t only have an issue with the diversity being portrayed. He also lashed out at the show for the on-screen kissing scene taking place between Anne and Jane Seymour.

The actor justified his worries with the following statement where he mentioned, “Anne Boleyn was a straight white female. You all need to stick that in your diversity pipe. It’s simply how the diversity agenda is pure and simple racism.”

But it was noteworthy to see what the actor had to say after those thoughts. “Just for the record, I believe any actor belonging to any sexual orientation or skin color can play any character. And that’s why this field is referred to as acting.”

“But, black actors can also play white limb different characters,” he went on to add.

In the new thriller, actress Jodie Turner-Smith plays the role of Anne Boleyn, which is being termed as her biggest acting role to date.
