Celine Dion has launched a gender-neutral clothing line for children last Tuesday.
The 50-year-old singer joined hands with NUNUNU and created her own collection containing more than seventy ‘stereotype-free styles’ for children aged zero to 14.
Dion worked in close collaboration with the founders of the brand – Tali Milchberg and Iris Adler – to create the new brand, CELINUNUNU.
The My Heart Will Go On singer said in a statement: ‘I’ve always loved NUNUNU and what they represent. Partnering with Iris and Tali to encourage a dialogue of equality and possibility makes so much sense.’
‘CELINUNUNU lets children choose outside stereotypes and norms so they can bring from within their own tastes and preferences.
‘We help them feel free, creative, inspired, respectful of one another and happy in the world.’
The style icon brilliantly used her amazing fashion sense to come up with a diverse variety of designs. From outfits printed with alphabets to stars, baby hats to skulls, her collection provides a wide range of styles.
While most items cost around $65, a few outfits, such as a black leather jacket, hover up to $290.
Meanwhile, the That’s the Way It Is singer took to social media to promote her clothing line by an eye-catching spot that she posted to Instagram.
In the short clip, the French-Canadian artist appears to be getting arrested in a hostile fashion as she resists the arrest and reminds officers of whom she is.
‘It’s OK, it’s OK: I’m Céline Dion,’ Dion can be seen telling the cops in the advertisement. The ad ends showing off the address to Celine’s Célinununu website.
The clip also features quotations such as ‘Children must be taught to think, not what to think’, ‘You are entirely up to you’ and ‘Raise boys and girls the same way.’
The veteran singer’s clothing line includes everything from blankets to tops to dresses to jackets to shoes, as well as tiny outfits for babies.
Celinununu’s official website says: ‘Celinununu unites two forces by one voice: fashion has the power to shape people’s minds. Inspire your children to be free and find their own individuality through clothes.’
The venture, however, isn’t Dion’s first foray into the fashion industry. Last year, the artist launched a luxury line featuring several branded items including handbags.
Other notable music artists who have their own fashion lines are Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Britney Spears.
