A CEO of an environmental consulting company was caught on a security camera attacking his defenseless puppy at his apartment.
In the footage obtained by Daily Mail, 46-year-old Jeffrey Previte was seen grabbing the four-month-old dog by the throat in a luxury condominium building in California.
The CEO can be seen giving the pooch a hard smack after jerking it through the door.
A worker who wished to remain anonymous heard the animal’s cries from the front desk and filed a report to the building’s management.
The concierge said: “I heard the dog screaming and when I looked on the camera, I saw him beating the dog.”
After witnessing the incident, he told the off-duty CEO that he had the footage and was going to report it.
“He became irate… and then he hung up on me,” the worker said. “He apologized the next day, but I didn’t think it was a sincere apology.”
The worker filed a report about the incident, writing: “at 6.55pm, I witnessed Jeffrey Previte beating his dog. He was very angry he was choking and slapping the dog. He even slammed the poor dog against the wall.
“I later called him to tell him I had a video and I had to report it. He began getting very hostile and he was very aggressive and very violent. He was being very arrogant towards me.”
The concierge said that the report was not taken seriously by the manager. “My boss laughed in my face,” he expressed. “I took the next day off work. I just felt that they should have called the police at least.”
The building management told Daily Mail in a statement: “The apparent conduct of the unit owner was abhorrent and completely unacceptable.
Building management stands behind our employee and we took swift action including contacting animal control and directing the resident to cease all contact with our employee.
We continue to evaluate other measures that can be taken with our counsel.”
Previte is a CEO of EBI Consulting, an environmental risk and compliance management consultancy firm. According to his company bio, he “has built its telecommunications consulting business to be the market leader in delivering environmental and engineering consulting to the wireless industry.”
