Marvel creators have expressed that they want Lady Headey, also known as Cersei Lannister of HBO’s Game of Thrones, to play the role of Lady Deadpool.
After the announcement of Wanda Wilson aka Lady Deadpool being introduced, Deadpool fans couldn’t contain their excitement. Now Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld has said he is up for seeing the GoT star as Lady Deadpool and said: “Bring it on!”
Headey previously made a joke that she would love to take on the role of Deadpool. In an interview with GeekHouseshow, she said that she would pick the Merc with a Mouth if she could play a comic book character.
“Anyway, that’s been taken,” she expressed.
But there’s another comic character the actress could be suited to: Lady Deadpool.
When asked what he thought about the idea of Headey playing the role of Wanda, Liefeld, who co-created the character of Deadpool, said to ComicBook.com: “Bring it on baby, bring it on!”
“Bring it on. Lady Deadpool is fantastic. She’s ridiculously popular as well. Also slightly underused I think,” Liefeld said.
The third installment of the hit movie was confirmed in 2019. With lead star Ryan Reynolds saying that the team had already started to work on the movie.
“We’re working on it right now with the whole team,” Ryan said during an interview on Live With Kelly and Ryan.
“We’re over at Marvel [Studios] now, which is like the big leagues all of a sudden. It’s kinda crazy. So yeah, we’re working on it.”
According to Variety, the Canadian actor said in a press conference: “(The producers and writers are) looking to go in a completely different direction.”
Reynolds added: “Often, they reboot or change a character maybe like four movies too late.”
