Social media nowadays is going crazy with the chair challenge.
You can see one after other people attempt to stand up holding a stool or chair to their body. Scientists say that most women can do it, but men cannot due to the center of mass.
This new viral challenge is getting on the nerves of the men because they cannot do it and women can. Basically, this challenge involves resting against a wall while pulling a chair to their chest and standing up.
While women are making it seem effortless, men seem to get stuck and lose their balance while attempting to stand up.
Do you want to try it; we will guide you. Stand with your face towards the wall with a stool or chair near you. Make sure that you are standing two-foot lengths from the wall and the lean forwards at an angle of a 90-degree angle.
Then you have to try to lift the chair towards your chest and then stand up. Simple right? However, it seems very difficult for men to do it.
Initially, we thought that this is one of those many challenges that is targeted to make people look stupid on social media. But we saw a lot of men try and they failed even after multiple efforts.
Men looked like they were really trying hard to it but ended up failing, however, women seemed to be done easily with half the effort. A scientific reason behind this is that men feature tighter hamstring and this challenge requires more flexibility.
Women, on the other hand, have stronger core strengthen, which facilitate the required movement. The center of the mass for girls comes lower to their hips, for men, on the other hand, it is higher.
So when bend over the mass is above their feet and for men, the mass stays above the chair. This is the main reason why men cannot do this challenge and women can.
