Pedophiles will be castrated by an injection under new laws in Ukraine.
According to Ukraine’s national news agency, the chemical process “involves the forced injection of anti-androgen drugs consisting of chemicals that should reduce libido and sexual activity.”
The laws will apply to men between the ages of 18 and 65 who are found guilty of sexually abusing minors. This could affect thousands of people every year.
In 2017 alone, there were 320 child rapes reported in Ukraine. However, the numbers of cases are now believed to increase into thousands.
National police chief Vyacheslav Abroskin said: “Five children were raped in four regions of Ukraine… within just 24 hours.
“And these are the crimes which parents reported to police despite their fear and anxiety to do so.
“We can only guess how many latent sexual crimes against children we have in the country.”
Recently, an 11-year-old girl was killed after trying to fight back against an alleged rape attempt by a 22-year-old family friend. Her corpse was found after a six-day search and the man was charged for attempted rape and murder.
The stricter law on sex crimes involving minors was passed at a special session of the Verkhovna Rada. Radical Party leader Oleg Lyashko said: “Ukrainian law does not have a life term or death penalty for sex crimes against children.
“And it is very unlikely that the rapist would not be back to his “business” again after release from jail.”
Ukraine will also set up a public register for pedos imprisoned for sexual abuse of minors and child rape. Such offenders will be monitored for life after release from prison.
