The city of Chicago is receiving plenty of heat as well as being mocked for tarring up its crosswalk which contained rainbow paint that honored the LGBTQ community.
Many were furious over the decision of the city who flaunted Pride month with such an enthusiastic stance but then opted to disregard it, as soon as the month ended. Moreover, many felt the display was just a public show as compared to an actual representation of their support for the Pride community.
Similarly, a number of different organizations, as well as companies under, went severe criticism over a similar ordeal where they reportedly changed their logos to match up the scheme for the LGBTQ banner, right before they went about taking it down as the month of Pride ended.
But now, it appears that those companies were not the only ones guilty of the act as citizens of Chicago are mocking the city’s officials for putting up similar hypocritical behavior by replacing rainbow-painted crosswalks with tarred ones, overnight.
But if you think the incident went unnoticed by plenty, think again. So many Twitter users were fast at pointing out the shocking behavior and the city’s fast removal of the colorful crossings.
One user commented, Chicago unveiled the rainbow crossings on June 3rd with great pride and then opted to tar it overnight on June 30th. But that was just the first of the long series of comments that came about recently.
Ever since the incident took place, so many others turned the shocking incident into a long discussion with plenty of heated arguments to follow on Twitter.
