Both conditions have similar symptoms like rash, irritability, high fever, etc. These similarities often lead to misdiagnosis of COVID-19 in place of the inflammatory syndrome.

It is critical to treat this condition immediately as it could swell the blood vessels that supply blood to the heart and result in serious health complications.

This health disease emerges in three phases. In the first week, a child experiences high temperature and rash; stomach ache, vomiting, and diarrhea occurs in the second week, and in the third week, the kid feels extremely tired and exhausted.

Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, who is deputy city health commissioner for disease control, shed light in this situation.

He said that if a child is suspected of having the inflammatory syndrome, the pediatrician should refer to the specialist in pediatric infectious disease, critical care, or rheumatology department immediately.
