Despite the coronavirus pandemic, which originated from Wuhan, China due to someone allegedly eating a bat, it seems like Chinese people didn’t have learned their lesson.
The virus that has caused the world greater harm already is still out there affecting many lives.
Recent footage shows blood-soaked floors, cats and dogs crammed into rusty cages, ducks and rabbits slaughtered and skinned, insects and bats put on sale as traditional medicine, and the floor covered in filth, blood, and animal remains in an indoor market in Guilin, south-west China.
These are deeply troubling scenes from China as it celebrated its ‘triumph’ over the deadly virus that has reportedly taken over 34,000 lives to the latest and still counting.
China opened its squalid meat markets that started the pandemic in the first place, three months ago. It seems like there is no apparent attempt taken by the Chinese officials to raise hygiene standards to prevent any outbreak in the future.
It is disturbing to see such carelessness by the people. The footage shows cages of different animal species to be slaughtered piled up on top of each other.
Another footage shows that a medicine seller in China is back in business, advertising bats, which is considered the initial cause of the outbreak in Wuhan.
It came after China lifted the weekslong lockdown to control the outbreak. People have started to go back to their normal life as they opened businesses and got back to work. The market was flooded with hundreds of people, with shoppers looking for cat and dog meat.
People in China think that the outbreak is over, and there’s nothing more left of it. As far as they are concerned, it is now a foreign problem.
It is still hard to believe how people over there are doing such things.
