4000 people are being tested, with the results of more than 70 infected cases as of now, in a major Chinese city bordering North Korea and Russia.
This might be the long foretold harbinger of a forthcoming second wave of the pandemic. The virus is said to have spread again as it is thought that the source of the crisis is in nature ‘imported’, by a particular student who came from New York a few days ago.
The lockdown has been implemented in Harbin, the capital of the Heilongjiang province situated in northeast China following the identifications, making the city currently number one in the coronavirus outbreak figures.
The authorities have made it clear that they will enforce regulating gatherings between people (essentially banning them altogether) and made residents swear for peer monitoring of non-local visitors and vehicles, as the population of the city amounts to a staggering number of 10 million.
The Chinese central government has issued reinforcing directive, detailing how residents, visitors and inbound traffic.
Entry into public places and residential areas would need the entering person to carry with them a health app on their cell phones, authenticating their status as a non-virus carrier.
The visitors would also be required to wear face masks and take their temperatures on the way.All sorts of social activities are banned, regardless of personal perks.
All cases that are related to the pandemic will be put in the harshest isolation, along with their closest ones. Their neighbors would also be isolated without question plus surveillance.
Meanwhile, in Wuhan, the former epicenter of the whole thing, there were only two ill patients on the brink of death.
Harbin has ordered also a ban of incoming expats or those coming from such cities that are still heavily inflicted of the virus.
The city has ordered 4 weeks of pure quarantine for all incoming ones, making all those members take double nucleic acid tests and antibody test, making it four in total. This comes as Heilongjang province was a leader in the Chinese provincial efforts to ban outside influences coming in from Russia.
It effectively warded off unnecessary arrivals, while focusing on their citizens coming in from the nearby border Russian cities to see if they were infected.
