Chinese Zoo Glued a Basket On The Back of a Tortoise to Collect Money Thrown by Tourists
0001pt">In a terrible act in a zoo in China, a tortoise was found with a basket glued on it’s back to catch the coins tourists threw at it.
In times like this, humans, who have been abusing animals since the very first day we stepped on this planet for our selfish needs, has grown up a little and are able to see beyond our selfish needs now.
Multiple NGOs, animal rights groups, and individuals are working up to raise awareness in favor of animals to stop the abuse.
For the same reasons, national parks and zoos were established so that people can be in contact with the wild animals as well the animals can survive without being harmed.
But what happens when the ones who were supposed to be working to give animals a better chance at life becomes the one abusing them.
A picture coming out of a zoo in China has ignited a flame of controversies as a tortoise was seen with a basket glued on its back.
The Zoo says that the matter is under investigation by management.
Tea-tia, a web user was the one to share the picture taken at the Nanning Zoo. The user posted along with a picture saying that the picture was taken on a crowded day as it was National Day holiday and several families along with kids visited the park.
As per a Chinese belief, people throw coins at a particular point so that their wishes can come true. It can be a well, a bell, an idol, and in this case, a tortoise.
The African spurred tortoise was the center of attraction of the park and so people started throwing coins at it and to collect those coins, the staff of the zoo had glued the basket.
This is an offence. Even if it is not one in the eyes of law it is defiantly in the eyes of nature and humanity. We are humans, not devils.
