Chris Hemsworth has announced he’s going to bulk up and get bigger than he was when he portrayed Thor in order to play wrestling legend Hulk Hogan in the upcoming biopic.
The 36-year-old Australian actor is set to undergo an extreme physical transformation and grow his muscles after signing a deal to play Hulk Hogan in the so-far-untitled Netflix biography movie.
“This movie is going to be a really fun project. As you can imagine, the preparation for the role will be insanely physical,” Hemsworth said in an interview with Total Film.
“I will have to put on more size than I ever have before, even more than I put on for Thor.”
As the actor went on to suggest, he will have to work not only on his physical appearance but also on his attitude and his accent in order to portray the wrestler in the right manner.
According to Hemsworth, the biography movie is still in its early stages whereas the production has yet to start. He allegedly also hasn’t seen the movie’s script yet.
Speaking of the matter of the actor’s appearance was also Bryan Alvarez, a wrestling commentator and a former wrestler, who suggested that “Hemsworth just looks like a normal guy.”
“He’s big, and yes he’s got long blonde hair, but… have you seen Hulk Hogan in the ‘80s? He’s at least twice the size of Thor,” Mr. Alvarez said.
The wrestling commentator also compared the actor’s stature to that of Brad Pitt who portrayed Achilles in the 2004 movie Troy.
