Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth have moved to Australia because life in Hollywood became overwhelming for the couple.

In a recent interview to The Sunday Telegraph, 36-year-old Chris said that his work had started to take over his private life after he starred in superhit movies like The Avengers, Thor, Snow White, the Hunstman and the latest Star Trek series

“When you’re suffocated by the work, every conversation that you’re having and every billboard you’re seeing is to do with a movie or whatever around the industry, you lose perspective,” Hemsworth told The Sunday Telegraph.

Hence, to have an off-the-radar life, the couple has relocated to Chris’s native Australia along with their children, 7-year-old India and twins Sasha and Tristan, 6.

The family is now residing in Byron Bay and has even convinced Chris’ younger brother, who recently broke up with Miley Cyrus, to come back to Australia.

“There’s not a single person that I interact with, or close friends of mine, that are really in the industry and so that’s hugely refreshing,” Chris said. “It’s great for my kids and my wife.”

Chris further told the news outlet that he’d be taking a break from the busy life of Hollywood after having worked in some really great movies.

“I just want to stop for a while. I need to be home for a minute. Just enjoy it,” the actor said. “It all flies by.”

Back in 2019, after the work on the movie Men in Black: International completed, Chris said he’d be taking a break for the rest of the year.

In a statement to Australian newspaper the Daily Telegraph, Chris said: “This year I probably won’t shoot anything. I just want to be at home now with my kids.

“They are at a very important age. They are still young and they are aware when I leave more than before. I have a press tour, a few endorsements and bits, and pieces, but mostly just be home.”

He added: “If you went back 10 years and asked me what would be my dream scenario, this is kind of it. I can now sit back, enjoy and appreciate it, and stop chasing [movies].”

Chris’s latest project was Netflix movie Extraction which will be available on the streaming website after April 24.
