Chris Pratt announced his engagement to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s daughter Katherine Schwarzenegger on his Instagram account early Monday, sharing a sweet photo alongside a caption.
The 39-year-old actor wrote: “Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes!”
“I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!”
The couple has been quietly dating for several months and just recently made their first appearance on social media as a couple.
On Schwarzenegger’s 29th birthday last month, Pratt wrote in an Instagram post that he was “thrilled” to be with her.
He wrote, ”Happy Birthday Chief! Your smile lights up the room. I’ve cherished our time together. Thrilled God put you in my life. Thankful for the laughs, kisses, talks, hikes, love and care.”
Chris reportedly asked Katherine Schwarzenegger’s parents for ‘permission’ before dropping to one knee and proposing to the 29-year-old author, according to US Weekly.
‘’Chris asked for Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s permission around Christmas,’’ the insider explained.
‘’Maria helped him with the proposal.’’
After sharing the news of their engagement on Instagram, Chris took to Facebook to admit they would have preferred to ‘have kept this secret for as long as possible,’ but lamented their status in the public eye.
Arnold was seen for lunch on Monday in Los Angeles but didn’t comment on Katherine’s engagement.
Maria, however, commented on her future son-in-law’s Instagram post: ‘’Congratulations to two loving kind caring thoughtful Spiritual people. We are so happy for you-you are blessed as is everyone who knows you yes let’s go.’’
She also posted on Katherine’s announcement: ‘’love you enjoy this next chapter make it fun you are so loved.’’
The sparkling diamond engagement ring appears to be ‘six or seven carats’, according to Page Six.
Chris has a son Jack with his ex-wife, actress Anna Faris, 42. The former couple finalized their divorce just three months ago in October 2018.
