Chrissy Teigen recently shared a video of herself in a bathing suit, telling her followers: “I never post thirst traps, so here I am trapping you in thirst with thirst.
” The 34-year-old model was just having fun amid the lockdown but Internet trolls had something to say as one person wrote that Chrissy “shaped like SpongeBob.”
Another wrote that she was “built like a rectangle.” Chrissy replied to one troll writing: “I know u ain’t talking.”
But there were many positive comments too as one of her fans defended the model writing: “So, @chrissyteigen posted a quick vid of herself in a bodysuit and the world went on attack. Men and women both throwing insults. I only WISH I could look like her! When did all these a**hats become walking perfect Ken and Barbies?”
To which Chrissy responded her supporter saying, “Everyone used to… surgically-enhanced curves. I’ve been a square my whole life and let me tell you, it’s paid off nicely in many ways!”
She replied to her another supporter writing: “Imagine if one day I showed up with hips and an a**. Ooooo you guys would be p***** then too! I’m happy, John’s happy, we all happy and doing a-okay!”
Chrissy went on responding to her fans as she replied to one saying, “It’s OK, I’ve been a rectangle my whole life and it’s gotten me pretty far!”
The model often shares relatable and quirky content on social media and there are many insensitive trolls who body shame her shamelessly. Chrissy revealed to one publication that she has been in trouble because of being outspoken.
She told Harper’s Bazaar: “It wasn’t really an accepted thing within my modelling and TV career early on. I would get in trouble, lots of phone calls from agents saying ‘Why did you tweet this? Now we’re in trouble with such-and-such a contract because you were too outspoken.”
She even lost some work for her straightforward nature as she revealed, “I got so much feedback that I needed to watch my mouth if I wanted to work with certain people. And I remember sobbing so much because it was just the worst feeling, letting people down.”
“I definitely lost work because people would shy away from being associated [with me], and I totally get it, too – they have to appeal to everybody.”
