Chrissy Teigen’s Cravings cookware has been dropped by retail giant Macy’s website after it was revealed that she bullied Courtney Stodden.
John Legend’s wife has come under fire after her old tweets encouraging Stodden to commit suicide resurfaced online.
Stodden, who goes by ‘they/their/them’ pronouns, revealed how Teigen sent her cruel messages and vile tweets. She also said that the model still has not apologized to them privately.
Stodden has called for Teigen to lose her lucrative branding deals, telling companies it is ‘not a good look’ to be ‘aligning with someone who encourages a minor to commit suicide.’
On Monday, Cravings by Chrissy Teigen were no longer available on Macy’s website.
It was also revealed that the model lost her contract with retail giant Target but the company said that the decision was made at the end of 2020 and has nothing to do with the current controversy.
The company said in a statement: “We made the mutual decision in December to no longer carry the cookware line, given our continued focus on brands we develop and that can only be found at Target.”
In 2011, Teigen posted a series of tweets telling then-16-year-old Stodden to ‘go to sleep forever.’
Stodden revealed that this was only part of the whole picture as John Legend’s wife would also send private messages ‘and tell me to kill myself.’
Last Wednesday, Teigen shared an apology on Twitter saying she was ‘mortified’ by her behavior in the past. She also said that she had tried to reach out to Stodden to apologize.
But Stodden responded to her claim, saying ‘she said she did, but she didn’t. She apologized on Twitter but I was blocked from the apology so couldn’t really see it but a few people sent it to me.
“I feel if she was sincerely sorry she would have at least got in touch with me privately. She said she did but she didn’t.”
Stodden also demanded the model lose all her lucrative deals with brands and called for a boycott.
“Vrbo, Target, Paypal… I think should really reconsider aligning with someone who promotes violence and encourages a minor to commit suicide,” Stodden said.
“That is disgusting and it’s not a good look. Luckily we have a choice where we spend our money.”
