In a shocking development, it has been found that Christchurch shooter Bernton Tarrant vowed to massacre Muslims in his last social media post just a day before the deadly attack.
The terrorist was even praised by his social media followers after he killed at least 49 people in the Friday attack.
On Thursday, Tarrant anonymously wrote on 8Chan that he ‘will carry out an attack against the invaders, and will even live stream the attack via Facebook.’
He also shared a link to a video on the notorious right-wing blogging website so that people in other time zones could watch the heinous act, saying: ‘By the time you read this I should be going live.’
‘If I don’t survive the attack, goodbye, god bless and I will see you in Valhalla,’ he added, referring to the Viking version of heaven.
The man also shared photos of his weapons and ammunition on social media before the incident. The police or any other law enforcement authority didn’t pick him up as he wasn’t on the terror watch list.
This was also confirmed by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern in a press conference.
‘Those, as far as I am advised, currently in custody were not on security watch list,’ she said. ‘It is a question if they were known from a security perspective. They were not on any active watch list.’
Tarrant also asked his fans to read his 73-page manifesto that he wrote and posted online so that he is always ‘remembered’.
The post in which Tarrant vowed to kill Muslims was written anonymously, still it was widely circulated by his fans on social media.
After the news of the attack surfaced on media, fans praised him with statements like ‘HAIL BRENTON TARRANT.’
One user said, ‘Holy f***, this is amazing.’
Another said, ‘Haha m*****s got f*****g rekt lol.’
One user hailed him a hero and said he also wished to commit a similar act.
‘This man had a great body, good life, ability to settle down and live calm life, but he chose to be a f*****g hero,’ a user said.
‘God bless you Brenton, you were one of us and we shall drink one together if I die death of an hero.’
One person said Tarrant didn’t kill enough Muslims. ‘Sadly he didn’t get nearly enough of them,’ the user wrote.
Another said, ‘If every man had his dedication and determination, we’d be living in a much better place. And for that alone, I salute him.’
Brenton Tarrant, from Grafton in New South Wales, entered the Al Noor Mosque in Christchurch, South Island, on Friday about 1.30 pm.
He opened fire with a rifle and a semi-automatic shotgun on hundreds of defenseless Muslims attending the prayers.
The white supremacist recorded his heinous act in a sickening 17-minute footage in which he can be seen firing mercilessly at the worshipers scrambling to flee, before calmly re-loading several times when he runs out of bullets.
Another shooting took place at the same time at a mosque in Linwood, where seven people lost their lives.
At least 49 people were killed in the attacks and a similar number of people were rushed to hospital with gunshot wounds, out of which 20 have received life-threatening injuries.
